It's That Time Again (No, I Don't Mean Christmas)

I haven’t blogged much here. But then again, we all know I’m a bad blogger. But now I’m getting ready to move again, and it’s time to think about my (short) time here in Maryland. For starters, I’ve been spending every Monday with my BFF, Misty. She works from home 3 days a week, so I watch the girls while she works. It’s mucho fun. I love getting to spend time with her, and I’m bonding with my goddaughters. I usually take Rem with me, and he loves having a yard to hang out in. My whole health and fitness thing hasn’t gone all that well. Getting a new tattoo meant a few days off while I healed, then I had a swollen ankle, then I got Hand, Foot, and Mouth from my darling goddaughter. But I feel like I’m starting to get back in the swing of things. In fact, in the few months I’ve been here, I’m able to use heavier weights on some of the moves J and I do on weight days. My bench press started with 10 pound dumbbells and now I can do 20s! (We don’t have barbells at our fitness ce...

Oh, Hello, New Year! Didn't See You There.

The last few months of 2013 flew by. Holy crap. Next thing I new, it was Christmas, then the in-laws visited, and then it was New Year's. Now it's 2014. I did some resolutioning for the Jewish new year, and actually somewhat accomplished one. My brother and I are talking again. It's good to have him back. We keep in touch online quite well, and talk on the phone from time to time. However, I did make the mistake of taking my husband on the Tour of Homes here. It's where some senior Officers and NCOs decorate their homes and allow us to tour them. And we pay for it. Yeah. But we went, and we had fun, and J was inspired. Apparently, it's time for us to step it up a notch. So we are starting the process of cleaning out our house. We'll go through our home, a section at a time, and sort through everything we have. Clean out things we no longer need or want, reorganize what we keep. We want to minimize what is left out. That means making sure things have a pla...

It's Changing. Again.

Tattoo idea, version 3. The original flame and water drop, somewhere between japanese and realism, with the Hebrew for Fire and Water under the relative design. I have plenty of resources to make sure my Hebrew is correct, and I will make sure they use my exact copy. I WILL NOT have incorrect Hebrew tattooed on me. I will bring it in and have them copy it to the correct size and use exactly that. Hebrew reads left to right, not right to left like English. I found a funny blog, all about Bad Hebrew Tattoos . They also posted a GIF of the correct Hebrew spelling of the 4 elements. I will even run these past a reliable personal source before using them in my tattoo. (That means you, Zach!) Eventually I may incorporate earth and wind into my back piece, but fire and water have always been my favorite elements. I want fire on the left shoulder blade and water on the right. Don't know why I want those sides, just always have. That has never been an issue in this tattoo design. ...
