March Who Madness: Day 30!

Image
Day 30: How It All Started  (I renamed it) I discovered Doctor Who when we moved to El Paso. We suddenly had this channel called BBC America and I thought I'd check it out. They were playing reruns during the day, and it caught my attention. I can't really say when I started watching it regularly, or when I got J started on it. I don't know what my first episode was or anything like that. It was something to put on during the day, and I got interested and started planning on watching the reruns.  In 2010, we were well and hooked, making sure to catch the new episodes. I still watched the reruns during the day and that's how I managed to see most of them, but J wanted to get caught up. We started watching them on netflix in order, from the start of the new series. We've watched a few of the older ones, but not much.  We're both hooked, but I'm a little more hooked than J. Hehe.

Day 29: Favorite Guest Star I think for me it's down to 2. But I'm not sure which I like more.  Kylie Minogue  Source: google.com.au via Amanda on Pinterest OR Simon Pegg Source: google.com.au via Gavin on Pinterest

Day 28: Favorite GIF really? gif? I'm not fond of gifs. Search anything on tumblr and you get a million gifs and a few images. It probably doesn't help that my computer is getting slower and slower and gifs slow it down even more.  Here. Just look at this . Too many gifs.

Day 27: Favorite Interview (WTF?) I actually have an answer for this that didn't require much work. I've already established that I love the friendship these two have both on and off screen, and this is further proof.  The whole episode is actually on youtube, here . Check it out. It's hi-freakin-larious.

Day 26: Favorite Doctor Gadget He pulls this thing out of nowhere (like he always does) and uses what looks like a car mirror to see the invisible critter, then inputs the data in the TARDIS to find out what it is. I. Love. This.  I don't know why, but this gadget stood out in my mind above all the others. Maybe it's because it's also a favorite episode. Maybe.

Day 25: Favorite Doctor Catchphrase We've established that David Tennant is my favorite Doctor. His commonly associated catchphrase is, "Allons-y!" And I love this. However, I also like a couple other catchphrases of his; "Brilliant!" and "Weeellllll..." And yes, it's drawn out like that. The way he uses that word, Well, is highly entertaining to me.  "She's very good at tea. Well, when I say "very good" I mean not bad. Well, I say "not bad"—anyway, lead on. Allons-y—but not too fast. Her ankle's going." I swear there was more but can't find them tonight and need to go to bed. Blah.

Day 24: Favorite Quote I have to pick just one? I'm tired, so let's make this quick and easy. We'll go with the one I set as my ring tone for any time my husband calls me. After all, I do want to be River Song when I grow up.

Day 23: Favorite Doctor Who Spin-Off Well, I've never seen the Sarah Jane Chronicles (that is the name, isn't it?), but I bet I would like it.  However, y'all know I'm in love with Captain Jack.  Torchwood It's not as wonderful as Doctor Who, but I enjoy it sometimes. And it's really the only spin-off I've seen.

Day 22: Favorite Friendship This one is easy for me.  Source The Doctor Donna! Even off camera, they seem to have developed such a friendship. With these two, it's both the actors and the characters. They just work so well together, and after Rose and Martha, Donna was a breath of fresh air - no romance, just fun and friendship. Plus, she's hilarious.

Day 21: Favorite Couple I actually had to think about this one. I've boiled it down.  It's such a unique relationship, and they go through so much together. I suppose it helps that I love River Song, but really, I think I can relate to them quite a bit.

March Who Madness: Day 20

Day 20: Favorite Writer Well this means you assume I was paying attention to who wrote which episodes. Shame on you for making assumptions! I only know a couple writer names. Stephen Moffat and Russell T. Davis. So let's just call it a tie between those two. Since they were the only ones to ever make a blip on my radar screen.

Day 19: Least Favorite Actress Please see my notes on the past couple entries about not liking least favorites or the separation of actor and actress. Anywho, I'm gonna have to dig for this one.  My choice? Michelle Ryan , who played Lady Christina de Souza in Planet Of The Dead. I like the espisode, and I love the idea of her character, but something about her just turns me off, and I was glad she didn't become a companion, or come back in any later episodes.

March Who Madness: Day 18

Day 18: Favorite Actress First, let me just say that I lumped men and women together when picking favorite and least favorite actor. I didn't look ahead and see that this thing specifies "actress." I think it's stupid, but whatever.  I didn't really have to think about this one. I'm going to pick the person I want to be when I grow up. Alex Kingston , otherwise known as River Song. Source

Day 17: Least Favorite Actor Um, yeah. I don't really follow actors that much. None of them have done anything (that I know of) to piss me off, so none of them are on my shit list.  So let's pick the actor of a character I didn't like. Bruno Langley  played Adam Mitchell in The Long Game, episode 7 of season 1. He hasn't done anything else I've seen. So yeah. We'll pick him.

Dirty Times

So, I did a mud run. It was a fun run. And now I am done. Sorry, English geek moment. I ran in the Dirty Girl Mud Run , which tours the US and raises money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. It's a 5K obstacle course that involves lots of mud. I was a little worried that they would try to have a completely muddy course in our dry, droughty dessert (yes, I made up that word), but they kept the mud contained in the obstacles. I did complete all the obstacles. They really weren't that hard. I also donated those New Balance Minimus shoes that got holes after 2 months on my feet. Maybe they'll do good for someone else. Besides, that was about 3 pounds of mud. There is more, but my buddy Amber! summed it up rather well in her blog post, here . So I'm going to be lazy and just linky to her. Yay. Besides, I have a Who post to write. *Update* Kim's post is up!  http://kimandkenareawesome.com/2013/03/17/dirty-disaster/

Day 16: Favorite Actor I think all in all, my favorite actor is David Tennant. I especially love is real accent.  source source

Day 15: Most Annoying Character I had to think about this one. I know she's only in a couple episodes, but she drives me batty. source source

Day 14: Character you like that everyone else hates Well, I wouldn't say hate, but a lot of people don't like Mickey Smith. I do. Such great character development there, and he really finds himself.  Pictures found at the greatest place to find Mickey pictures,  http://fuckyeahmickeysmith.tumblr.com .
